The East Haddam Historical Society is happy to announce the 2024 East Haddam Historical Society Scholarship has been awarded to Susanna Zhang. The scholarship is awarded annually to a student who shows an interest in, and understanding of, the importance of history.
Community service is an important component of the scholarship; Susanna has completed hundreds of hours during her high school career. She completed AP U.S. History and Women's Studies and is Valedictorian. Congratulations Susanna!

Sixth annual EHHS Scholarship Award announced for 2024

The East Haddam Historical Society is happy to announce the 6th annual EHHS Scholarship.
This is an award given to a Nathan Hale-Ray High School senior who will be attending an institution of higher learning in the next year. The applicant should show an interest in and understanding of the importance of history and/or service to the community of East Haddam. The East Haddam Historical Society illuminates and preserves the stories of the people and places that shape our community. The history of East Haddam and the lower Connecticut Valley has had a significant impact on our state, our region, and the world. Supporting students who show an understanding of the importance of learning from history and how to apply those lessons makes our community stronger.
APPLICATION DEADLINE: Return to Guidance by May 1, 2024
DOLLAR AMOUNT: $500.00
SELECTION CRITERIA: The East Haddam Historical Society illuminates and preserves the stories of the people and places that shape our community. We are awarding this scholarship to an individual who shows interest in history and/or serving thecommunity of East Haddam.
